Vintage Designs hats and headpieces are made from quality materials hand picked by the designer, Jo-Anne Rolfe. Her straws, felts and crinolines all vie for attention in an eclectic range of styles to suit all budgets. Jo has just created her unique collection of elegant vintage racewear. From 1920's skull caps,1930's cloches, 1940's cartwheels and discs, to 1950's eggshells and saucers, these simple yet beautiful and stylish hats have marked the beginning of her newest Millinery Collection. Her gorgeous straw headpieces, crinoline discs and hand fashioned silk and velvet flowers, evoke memories of more romantic times.
From her Narrandera studio in the heart of the Riverina district of NSW, Australia, Jo creates her unique chapeaus and headpieces, taking inspiration from both the Australian Bushland and the lavender fields which surround her 1912 farmhouse. Jo's vintage and retro hats are sold with her own designer label and are not massed produced. These "prêt a porter" hats are blocked and stitched by hand most usually using her collection of antique wooden blocks. Jo's hats are often worn with everyday clothes, her designer hats are smart and practical for day wear and regular use and are purchased by clients, with good taste and a desire for individuality.
